Snowman Soup

I helped plan a winter party for Little Man's class. As a treat I made packets of snowman hot cocoa. I put a packet of hot chocolate, Hershey 's kisses, marshmallows, and a candy cane to stir it. I attached a poem that I cannot find the link to now.
I wish I hadn't waited to the last minute and I would have had time to make them a little cuter.

Baby Blanket Gift

I wanted to make a different blanket than the other I had been making. So I made this Striped blanket. It was easy and turned out so nice and soft. I also gave her a new  mom survival kit. I saw one online like  so I created a similar one.

Super Hero Capes & Masks

I had seen this on pinterest and wanted to make the boys capes and masks for the super hero party a friend was throwing. So the night before I got out some fabric and felt and got to it. I printed off  lightning and letters and traced them on a cereal box to use to as a tracing template. Then placed the templates on the felt to trace and then cut out. Next I used a iron on adhesive to iron them to the capes which are jersey knit fabric that I cut out freehand and attached velcro the the neck(you could also just tie them on). I used elastic and thicker/stiffer felt for the masks. I traced them also and then cut out. They boys seemed to really like them and Gavin is still playing with his almost a year later.

Fruit Salad

This an awesome fruit salad recipe I got from my sister....always gets lots of compliments and is super easy to throw together quickly. You slice peaches and add green grapes sliced in half and black berries and some mint leaves chopped up. A little while before you serve it you can add a little sugar to get the juices flowing from the fruit.

Canvas Cocktails 2

At Canvas and Cocktails for the second time. We had a great time painting our version of starry night by Vincent van Gogh. After we went out to Rock Bottom for appetizers and dessert.

Finished Blanket

Here is a variegated baby blanket I crocheted for a friend.

Bridal Shower Cake

I really wanted to make something different for this gift. So I search online and saw different cakes made out of towels and bath items. So I decided to give it a try. This is what I made. I used the towels she had on her registry, ribbon, some bath items and candles.

Hawaiian Going Away Party

We had a going away party for a friend that was moving back to Japan. Here are some of the things I made for it. Sushi made out of candy. I used fruit roll ups, Twinkies, Swedish fish, mini powder donuts cut in half, and Swiss roll or din dongs.
These Hawaiian hair clips made out of Hawaiian hibiscus flowers.

These cupcakes are made with vanilla and chocolate fish crackers, gummy life saver, fruit roll ups and teddy Graham. I used crushed Graham crackers for the sand.

I saw this pineapple cream cheese dip and had to make it.
I saw these online and a friend made them.  Aren't they cute?

I also made a topiary out of umbrellas and used a thruster s heet that was Hawaiin as a backdrop for a photo booth. I brought leis for everyone to wear and got funny glasses, hats and Hawaiian skirts for the photo booth.(will add photos of these when I find them). Everyone were their Hawaiian attire and had a great time.

Donut Burgers

These are actually something my husband made. He grilled  cheese burgers and Krispy Cream donuts. They were actually really good and there were none left.

The Red Sea

For family worship we wanted to recreate Moses leading the Isrealites through the Red Sea. So we got out the legos and created a sea and told the story while we acted it out with Lego. Little Man really enjoyed it and it helped him understand the story better.

Winter Owl Baby Shower

I help with a winter owl baby shower for a good friend. I made snowflake sugar cookies and my sister  helped me decorate them.
I also made these sugar cookies for the Hot Chocolate bar to set on the cups.
We had a Hot Chocolate bar that everyone seems  to love.  There was a variety of toppings including syrup, different flavored marshmallows and chips, and candy canes for stirring. I also made marshmallows pops covered in white chocolate and blue sugar.

My friend did a great job with the make the all the decorations. I helped make some of them and the favors.

These were made with empty baby food jars. We hot glued the owl and spray painted the top and filled with candy. Didn't they turn out good?

We hand stitched these little mittens and filled with chocolate covered pretzels.
We cut all these little owls out by hand and attached to mini ziploc bags filled with chocolate covered snowflake pretzels.
